Gayton McKenzie accused of not understanding fashion industry after his meeting with Shein
Fashion designer David Tlale said he doesn’t think Gayton McKenzie understands the complexities of the clothing and textile industry.
EFC middleweight champion Luke Michael says his personal struggles are what got him through his fight against Siya Nomveve, despite the late change after his initial opponent withdrew.
The judges' score cards all pointed to a unanimous decision in favour of Michael following a tactical five-round battle in the octagon on Thursday night.
Michael had very little time to prepare for Nomveve, who was announced as the new challenger, with Shadrack Nsua involved in a car crash.
Although it took him the maximum number of rounds to retain his title, Micheal said his winning formula was simple.
"To be honest, since I won the middleweight title last year, I knew that Siya Nomveve was one of the dangerous guys next in line, and I wish him and his family all the best for his recovery.
"When I watched some of Siya's fights, his takedown defence and counter wrestling looked really good, but due to my hard work and years of grappling experience, I just proved that I am a level above," explained the "young gun".
The champion added that, even with the quick turnaround, Nomveve was in fact not a closed book like he was expecting.
Michael dedicated the win to his wife, who he says is his biggest support structure.
EFC fighters see the next step as being offered a UFC contract on the world stage, and Michael also weighed in on whether he is ready.
"If I want that UFC contract, I need to show more of my all-around game, and I need to accumulate more finishes.
"However, on the ground, I truly believe that I am a cut above the rest. If my opponents can't shut down the takedown, then I will keep on winning."
