SADC region gearing up to host 45th ordinary summit heads of state
Southern African Development Community (SADC) region is getting ready to host its 45th ordinary summit heads of state and government this month in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The Proteas will have to wait until Saturday to have another attempt at beating the Black Caps, when the two sides meet in the T20 tri-series final in Harare.
South Africa lost to New Zealand by seven wickets yesterday, their second loss of the series to the same team, but will have another crack at them in the decider, this weekend.
Batter Reeza Hendricks says the few days of rest will help them adequately prepare for that match.
"It was a much improved batting performance, and we have a few days now to reflect on this match and prepare for the next one.
"Hopefully, we come out a lot stronger on Saturday," said the experienced batter.
Hendricks top-scored for the Proteas with 41, but it wasn’t enough to see his team over the line.
He was bitterly disappointed with himself after that loss and believes he could have stayed at the crease for much longer.
"It's always nice to contribute, but I would have loved to have batted longer and to be there until the end with George Linde."
Another factor that’s been key in this series has been the toss, every time the team that wins the toss bowls first and wins the match.
While Hendricks agrees that it’s been an important toss to win, he doesn’t believe it’s been the sole contributor to the results.
This T20 tri-series has also been the first for Shukri Conrad as the Proteas’ all-format coach, and Hendricks believes it’s been as much a learning curve for him as it’s been for the players.

Advocates For Transformation (AFT) has welcomed the appointment of former Gauteng Judge President Dunstan Mlambo as Deputy Chief Justice of South Africa, describing it as a “moment of deep national significance”.
Suspended Gauteng Judge Tintswalo “Nana” Makhubele faces possible impeachment.
