Use a dehumidifier or open windows periodically to prevent mould growth, especially in damp areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
3. With windows closed and pets staying inside more often, the accumulation of pet hair and dander can exacerbate allergy symptoms. If you’re allergic to pet dander, keep pets out of bedrooms and groom them regularly to reduce shedding.
4. Smoke from fireplaces, candles, and household cleaning chemicals can cause further irritations. Choose non-allergenic heating methods, as wood-burning fireplaces can release irritating particles into the air.
5. While it’s tempting to seal off your home from the cold, allowing fresh air in can help reduce the buildup of allergens indoors.
