Gayton McKenzie accused of not understanding fashion industry after his meeting with Shein
Fashion designer David Tlale said he doesn’t think Gayton McKenzie understands the complexities of the clothing and textile industry.
Popular House of Zwide actor Motlatsi Mafatshe is teaming up with media personality Gabisile Tshabalala to host a heartwarming new initiative dubbed “African Cuisine Monday” at the popular Soweto hangout spot Disoufeng.
The event is set to celebrate African cuisine while shining a spotlight on the hardworking waiters who often go unnoticed in the fast-paced hospitality industry.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Motlatsi shared the inspiration behind the concept.
“African Cuisine is a great concept. It’s about giving back and giving love to the waiters out there, to say we see them. They work hard and sometimes they get overlooked. We thought it would be something special to be served by me and Gabi to honour them.”
Beyond celebrating local food and culture, the initiative also aims to support the Soweto community, particularly women-focused programmes. Motlatsi praised the venue, Disoufeng, for being at the forefront of social change.
“We appreciate Disoufeng for the initiative they are doing for the community of Soweto, especially the women initiatives.”
African Cuisine Monday is expected to become a soulful gathering filled with music, food and community; the perfect recipe to uplift and celebrate the everyday heroes in hospitality.
